Directed by one of the most-regarded directors of Nikkatsu’s Roman Porno erotic line, Masaru Konuma (Flower and Snake, Wife to be Sacrified), this Gothic-styled erotic nightmare adapted from a story by the “unfilmable” literary maestro Yumeno Kyusaku (Dogra Magra) is by turns sensual, surreal, horrific and otherworldly, and counts among the studio’s boldest works.
